Introduction:
Welcome to Queen's Quest 3, another entry in the Artifex Mundi catalogue. If you're unfamiliar with their games, it's a point and click adventure game with a strong emphasis on puzzles. Unlike other games from Artifex Mundi, this one does not need to be played on Expert, doesn't require a playthrough of the bonus chapter, and doesn't require a second playthrough, making it the shortest and simplest entry to date. Let's get started.

Abbreviated Walkthrough:
Unlike other Artifex Mundi games, there is no achievement for beating the game on Expert, so feel free to play the game on Casual if you don't want to have to deal with the extra constraints of Expert difficulty.

This game has the standard game-spanning achievements as other Artifex Mundi games:

  • Don't use any hints during Hidden Object Puzzles (HOPs)
  • Don't skip any minigames
  • Collect all collectibles

Since you're playing on Casual, you CAN use hints during the normal gameplay in case you're not sure what to do next, just don't use a hint during an HOP. Also, this game has three different types of collectibles, so like usual, following a collectible guide is highly recommended. A great Steam guide can be found in the "Collector" achievement solution. I highly recommend keeping it open as you play so you don't risk missing a collectible.

Lastly, there are the usual miscellaneous achievements, such as for completing a minigame in under one minute, completing an HOP in under one minute, and completing an HOP without a mistake. The minigames in this game are, in general, incredibly easy across the board. There are tons of minigames that can be completed in under one minute with ease without a guide. As for the HOP achievements, what I recommend doing is trying to complete the first HOP without a mistake, and keep trying until you can finish one without a mistake. Once you do, and unlock the related achievement, speed through all the remaining HOPs as fast as possible to complete one in under a minute.

Everything else is story-related or will come naturally as you progress. By the time you beat the game, you should have the full 1000Queen's Quest 3: The End of Dawn Achievement Guide & Road Map (3).

Mop-Up:
If you missed any achievements, you'll unfortunately need to start a new game and play through until you get them. If you missed any collectibles, the ones you collected do carry over, so you'll only have to play up to the point with the missed collectible.

Conclusion:
Queen's Quest 3 is another fun entry in the series, and is definitely the most casual one since you don't have to play on Expert for any achievements. This makes it perfect for newcomers or just for fast and easy gamerscore. As long as you didn't miss one of the many collectibles, you should've had no problem obtaining this completion.

Show secret achievements

There are 18 achievements with a total of 1000 points

  • Queen's Quest 3: The End of Dawn Achievement Guide & Road Map (5)

    Bullseye

    25

Complete a Hidden Object Puzzle without a hint.

Refer to the "Perceptive Eye" achievement solution for more information.

  • Queen's Quest 3: The End of Dawn Achievement Guide & Road Map (6)

    Good Reflexes

    25

Complete a Hidden Object Puzzle in less than a minute.

There are two types of HOPs in the game: the ones where the item names are listed on the bottom, and the ones where the item silhouettes are displayed on the bottom. The former type of HOPs are randomized to an extent, whereas the latter type are not randomized and are therefore the same every time.

With that in mind, there are two methods to obtain this achievement. The first is, since you're likely playing on Casual and therefore there is no penalty for mistakes during an HOP, to just go around the HOP mashing Queen's Quest 3: The End of Dawn Achievement Guide & Road Map (7) on various items as fast as possible, getting lucky and finding the majority of them, then mop up the remaining ones quickly. This is definitely viable in many of the HOPs, but a guaranteed way to get this achievement is to first go though an HOP (preferably a nonrandom one) and find all but one object, taking as long as you need. Find the last object but don't click on it. Instead, force close the game app. Do NOT quit to the main menu; doing so saves your game. Relaunch the game app and resume your game. You'll be just before the same HOP. You should now know where most, if not all, of the objects are from memory, allowing you to very quickly go around and click on them all in under a minute.

Using this latter matter is also a surefire way to unlock "Three in Three" as well.

  • Queen's Quest 3: The End of Dawn Achievement Guide & Road Map (8)

    Time Stands Still

    50

Complete a Minigame in less than a minute.

In general, almost every minigame in this game is so simple that it can be completed in under one minute, so this will almost assuredly happen naturally. If you find that it hasn't and you're far into the game, or if you don't think you're likely to do it on your own, the two walkthroughs in the "Dragon Slayer" achievement solution also shows the solutions to all minigames, making it trivial to finish one in under one minute.

  • Queen's Quest 3: The End of Dawn Achievement Guide & Road Map (9)

Refer to the "Collector" achievement solution for more information.

  • Queen's Quest 3: The End of Dawn Achievement Guide & Road Map (10)

    Veteran

    25

    Find 30 collectables.

Refer to the "Collector" achievement solution for more information.

  • Queen's Quest 3: The End of Dawn Achievement Guide & Road Map (11)

    Three In Three

    50

Find 3 Hidden Objects within 3 seconds.

Since you're likely playing the game on Casual difficulty, there is no penalty for mistakes in an HOP, meaning you're free to mash Queen's Quest 3: The End of Dawn Achievement Guide & Road Map (12) as much as you'd like. Doing so in HOPs is very likely to get you this achievement naturally. Another option is to use the second method outlined in the "Good Reflexes" achievement solution. As noted there, that method will almost assuredly unlock this achievement in the process.

  • Queen's Quest 3: The End of Dawn Achievement Guide & Road Map (13)

    Triple Luck

    25

Finish 3 Hidden Object Puzzles in less than 10 minutes.

This achievement requires you to finish three consecutive HOPs in under 10 minutes, real time. This may seem stressful or tight, but it will definitely happen naturally. Early in the game, HOPs are more scarce. From around the midpoint until the end though, HOPs are very frequent, making this achievement essentially progress related.

  • Queen's Quest 3: The End of Dawn Achievement Guide & Road Map (14)

    Tough Cookie

    100

Complete 5 Minigames without skipping them.

Refer to the "Raw Talent" achievement solution for more information.

  • Queen's Quest 3: The End of Dawn Achievement Guide & Road Map (15)

    Fixer Upper

    50

    Open the library.

    Story-related; cannot be missed.

  • Queen's Quest 3: The End of Dawn Achievement Guide & Road Map (16)

  • Queen's Quest 3: The End of Dawn Achievement Guide & Road Map (17)

    Persistent

    50

Return the Crystals from the witch.

    Story-related; cannot be missed.

Refer to the "Dragon Slayer" achievement solution for more information.

  • Queen's Quest 3: The End of Dawn Achievement Guide & Road Map (18)

    Destroyer

    100

Destroy the machine powering the crystal.

    Story-related; cannot be missed.

Refer to the "Dragon Slayer" achievement solution for more information.

  • Queen's Quest 3: The End of Dawn Achievement Guide & Road Map (19)

    Raw Talent

    25

Finish all the Minigames without skipping them.

Skipping a minigame is done by pressing Queen's Quest 3: The End of Dawn Achievement Guide & Road Map (20), so avoid the directional pad entirely during minigames.

In general, the minigames in this game are incredibly short and easy, and should pose little trouble even without a guide. If you're ever stuck though, the walkthroughs in the "Dragon Slayer" achievement solution contain the solutions to all of the minigames as well. Consult them if you need an assistance with a minigame.

  • Queen's Quest 3: The End of Dawn Achievement Guide & Road Map (21)

    Collector

    100

    Find all collectables.

There are three types of collectibles to find in this game:

    • 42 crests
    • 16 hats
    • 8 ghosts

All three types of collectibles phase in and out of visibility. The ghosts are huge and white, so they're difficult to miss, but the crests and hats are pretty small. In general, every screen has at least one collectible to find and at most two. There are many points of no return, so always grab the collectible(s) as soon as you enter a new screen.

A Steam guide with screenshots of all collectibles can be found HERE. I highly recommend keeping it open and following along as you play, because if you miss any collectibles you'll need to start a new game and play to the collectibles you missed.

  • Queen's Quest 3: The End of Dawn Achievement Guide & Road Map (22)

    Perceptive Eye

    100

Finish all the Hidden Object Puzzles without using a hint.

During all HOPs, never press Queen's Quest 3: The End of Dawn Achievement Guide & Road Map (23) to use a hint.

The HOPs in this game are pretty easy, and since you're able to play on Casual difficulty, there's no penalty for mistakes, allowing you to mash Queen's Quest 3: The End of Dawn Achievement Guide & Road Map (24) on all of the various objects until you find what you need. If you need any help or get stuck, the video guide in the "Dragon Slayer" achievement solution shows all HOPs being completed. Just be aware that many of the HOPs are randomized to an extent, so don't be surprised if there is an item or two that isn't in the video. If this happens and you can't find it yourself, you can always force close the game app (without quitting to the main menu) and relaunch the game. You'll load back in before the HOP and will have a new set of objects to find, and they may match the video this time.

  • Queen's Quest 3: The End of Dawn Achievement Guide & Road Map (25)

    No Mistake

    100

Complete a Hidden Object Puzzle without mistake.

This is probably the toughest achievement in the game, if only because the "detection" of your cursor on the objects can be finicky at times. I highly recommend making this achievement your first priority in the game. Each HOP should be approached with the intent of unlocking this achievement until you do unlock it.

An option for practicality guaranteeing you unlock this achievement is to use the same second method described in the "Good Reflexes" achievement solution. In summary, find all objects except one, making as many mistakes as you want. Locate the last one but don't click on it. Instead, force close the game app without quitting to the main menu. Relaunch the game, resume your game, and this time when you play the HOP you should already know where all of the objects are, allowing you to complete it without any mistakes.

  • Queen's Quest 3: The End of Dawn Achievement Guide & Road Map (26)

    Dragon Sense

    25

    Find the Dragon Crystals.

    Story-related; cannot be missed.

Refer to the "Dragon Slayer" achievement solution for more information.

  • Queen's Quest 3: The End of Dawn Achievement Guide & Road Map (27)

    Dragon Slayer

    25

    Defeat the Dragon Lord.

    Story-related; cannot be missed.

This achievement unlocks upon completing the game on any difficulty, so feel free to play on Casual. As noted in the roadmap, you are also able to use hints throughout normal gameplay if you're not sure what to do next, as long as you don't use a hint during an HOP or skip a minigame.
